COVID-19 Response
The LGBTQ Center of Durham remains committed to providing on-going support and programming for the LGBTQ+ people in Durham. With COVID-19, we have ceased operating in our physical space and we have moved our programming online. We will continue to do so until the rate of new infections in Durham sees a steady and consistent 14-day decline in numbers.
Our hope in moving to a digital landscape is to remain connected to the community in the ways possible during this global pandemic--your health and safety is our number one priority. We have been working diligently to respond to the needs of the community by creating three programs immediately after we learned of the severity of COVID-19. These include our Daily Dance Breaks, the QTPOC Rapid Response Fund, and a community of volunteers calling our LGBTQ+ elders.
Now that we are aware that social distancing will continue to be in place and will have long-term effects on our programming, we are asking the community to tell us what programming is desired. If you would like to give us guidance and help find the direction of our next steps, please consider filling out our brief survey here.
We know this is a hard and challenging time for all of us, but we know we will see the other side of this pandemic. Your continued support and enthusiasm continues to be appreciated. Please be safe.
