    Looking to learn how to do your femme’s makeup? Or maybe learn a new style? Or even maybe you’re entirely new to makeup and don’t know where to start? 

    Come join us as we cover:
    - Starting base for foundation application
    - Concealer, contour, blush and highlighting application
    - Eyeshadow/optional cut crease tutorial
    - Winged eyeliner technique
    - False lash application
    - Makeup removal (optional)

    This event is entirely free to attend, all we ask is that you bring your own materials. For this class, you will need to bring the following:
    - Full brush set, for an example of what this includes, check out this link: https://sy-beauty.com/makeup-brushes-names-and-their-uses/
    - Foundation and concealer in your shade
    - Blush
    - Bronzer
    - Highlight
    - Eyeliner
    - Eyeshadow palette of your choice (must have white or nude included for cut crease tutorial)
    - False lashes of your choice and eyelash glue

    Please wash your face and moisturize before arrival for best results! You will be provided your own angled brush(es), primer (E.L.F grip), makeup remover and cotton pads.

    We will also be collecting donations for the LGBT Center Of Durham during the event! If you’d like to donate, go for it! Anything is appreciated :)

  • VIRTUAL: Transforming Families Support Group

    Transforming Families NC

    Meet fellow parents and caregivers raising transgender, non-binary and gender diverse youth in a safe, affirming space. We'll share knowledge, experiences & concerns. Confidentiality is very important, as we are all at different stages of our journey.

    Join us on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 4:30pm to 6pm for an open and honest discussion group for parents of gender creative children (child’s age does not matter).

  • Free & Confidential HIV/STI Testing

    Durham County’s “I Take Testing Seriously” Program (ITTS) works with community partners and members alike to decrease rates of HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis C, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia. Our public health educators provide comprehensive sexual health services anywhere in Durham County.

    When folx attend testing services through the LGBTQ Center of Durham, they are able to receive: free and confidential HIV/STI screenings, PrEP referrals as needed, and confidential counseling on next steps.

    Specimens are sent to the NC State Lab  for testing where a 4th generation test is used.

    Access to free barriers (internal, external) and lubrication is always readily available.

    Our tester can also answer questions about PrEP and provide initial steps in the County's Quick Start program for PrEP. Stop in today!

  • The Transgender People of Color (Trans POC) Support Group

    If you’re a person of color trans or gender-nonconforming community member and you would like to share space with The Center, discuss your trans experience, normalize joy in your life, then join us for the POC Trans support group every fourth Wednesday of the month. From 5 PM to 7 PM at the LGBTQ Center Of Durham. We will provide light snacks.

    The Food Pantry at the LGBTQ Center of Durham distributes food by appointment on the 3rd Thursday, and the following Saturday of each month.   • Survivor Roots Support Group

     SQSN is excited to introduce ~ Survivor Roots ~ an ongoing support group intended to support our community, provide consistency, deepen & build connections among LGBTQ+ survivors of interpersonal violence. 

    Starting in July 2026, we will meet every 2nd & 4th Thursday.
